I need help making a rosary out of gum paste!?
A friend and I are working on a christening dress for my niece’s christening in 2 weeks…we’ve done a lot of fondant work but are new to using gum paste and really want to try to make a Rosary to drape over the cake once we get it designed and finished with fondant….can anyone help us figure out how to make the rosary…obviously he crucifix we’ve got down, it’s the actually beading we’re having trouble with!
Anyone think it’d work out if we were to use the gum paste in a chocolate mold of a necklace or something, freeze it and connect it to the crucifix, or does anyone have another way?

If you’re use to fondant, use that. Gum paste might dry too fast for you. Roll a piece into an even sized rope. Cut a slice off and roll into a ball and see if that’s the size bead you want. Cut slices from the rope all the same size, then roll into beads. Let dry a while. Use necklace string or fishing line on a needle to string. Want to make them really pretty? Buy some luster dust or pearl dust and toss in a plastic bag with the beads (after making the rosary).
There are cake supply sites that sell bead molds, if you have the time and money.
