Make sure that when you are finished that the jewelry piece is completely dry before putting it away. There are some specialty jewelry cleaning compounds that you can try if you wish. Some of them are specific to the type of metal you piece is made from so make sure you select the proper type. You should also know which products to avoid because if you use the wrong one it would damage your jewelry piece permanently. Never use any products that contain ammonia, acid, vinegar, or alcohol as these will react with the metal and corrode the finish. Also, to avoid scratching your jewelry, also take them off before going in to the shower or washing your hands in the sink. Following these cleaning guidelines will ensure that you can enjoy many years of wearing your jewelry, and if you treat it right it will definitely help you to look your best.
