Can you help me with my poem?
I’m not a poet in any way shape or form but I have to write a poem for school…..
Smooth like ice,and cold too
my fingers slide across the hood.
My mind is filled with images:
screeching tires,the engie reving,
the roar of the wind rushing past my face.
I step back,
The car is a diamond, the sun sparkiling
off the red candy apple paint.
The engine putters and then roars to life
just the same as it did over forty years ago
gallantly perched upon the hood, a mustang,
leads the car on its journey.
Left in a cloud of smoke
i wave, watching my dad drive away
As i patiently wait for the day
that i’ll get to drive.
Any good? please tell me how i can make it better? my only assisgnment i have is to use a varity of shaping techniques and diction……Help please
