Wear and Share God’s Word with a Salvation Bracelet
Bracelets come in seemingly endless shapes, sizes, textures, metals and colors. What makes a Salvation bracelet stand apart from others is the symbolic meaning behind the specific beads that tells the story of our salvation.
There are many styles of Salvation bracelets made from varying components ranging from plastic beads to the finest Swarovski crystals, gemstones, leather, pewter, gold and sterling. No matter what a particular design is made from, the meaning remains the same powerful message of our salvation.
Once you know the meaning behind the beads, a salvation bracelet becomes a beautiful tool to share its message with others. It’s also a reminder to the one who wears it as they go about a busy day, of what’s really important. It’s a gentle reminder to keep priorities in check.
There are six main colored beads representing key elements in the salvation story. The black bead symbolizes our sin and selfishness. None of us is perfect. We want to do things our own way, independent of God. Our sin separates us from God, yet He loves each one of us and does not want to lose us. Therefore he provided a way for our sins to be forgiven and for us to be united with Him forever. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
The red bead symbolizes the Blood of Christ. Because of God’s love for us, He sent His only son, the only One who could pay the price. He was persecuted and crucified on the cross as payment for all of our sins. Because of His kindness we have been saved through trusting God. Salvation is not a reward for the good we have done, so none of us can take any credit for it. It is God Himself who has made us what we are. “God laid on Him (Jesus) the guilt and sin of us all.” Isaiah 53:6
The white bead symbolizes God’s Forgiveness. We must confess our sins and accept Christ as our Lord and Savior. If you believe that Jesus is the Son of God and died for your sins, God promises that you will never be separated from Him. You will receive the gift of eternal life. “If we confess our sins, He who is just can be trusted to forgive our sins and cleanse us from every wrong.” John 1:9
The blue bead symbolizes the Holy Spirit. “You must reform and be baptized, each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, that your sins may be forgiven, then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38 “The Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name, will instruct you in everything, and remind you of all I told you.” John 14:26
The green bead symbolizes life and growth in our relationship with God. As we mature in our faith we are transformed. We begin to see things as God sees them. Our hearts are filled with His mercy and grace and we begin to love others as Christ loved us. “Grow in the grace and knowledge of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 3:18
The gold bead symbolizes heaven. ” . . . and the main street was pure gold.” Rev 21:21 Heaven is God’s home. Because God Himself created us, He wants us to be in heaven, united with him forever. In heaven there will be no more sorrow, no more pain, and no more death.
So no matter what the design is made of or looks like, a Salvation bracelet has a deeper meaning that is special and exciting to share.
